Conference Program

MWCMLA25: Imagination & Co-Creation

At a time when long-standing norms and organizations are crumbling, how are we anchoring ourselves as health sciences information professionals with a strong sense of our core values and skills? How can we meet this moment not with fear, but by imagining the world we want, and confidently working together to build something new?

Our goal is to draw strength and certainty from one another, and to come out of the conference feeling inspired and sure of our purpose as health sciences librarians and our resilience in an uncertain world. Our keynote speakers will guide us to focus on the library world, and then to zoom out to the bigger picture:

Planetary Health: An Essential Role of Health Sciences Librarians

Teddie Potter PhD, RN, FAAN, FNAP

Teddie Potter is the inaugural Director of the Center for Planetary Health and Environmental Justice at the School of Nursing at the University of Minnesota and a Fellow in the Institute on the Environment at the University.

We will hear from our colleagues at the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM) and the Medical Library Association (MLA), as well as a robust Research Program with papers, posters, and lightning talks from our talented colleagues.

This year, we are also focused on the role of co-created art, symbolism, and visual media in building community and sense of purpose. Stay tuned for how this is woven throughout our program.

Join us for an exciting few days of Imagination and Co-Creation at MWCMLA25!
